Bluegrass Creamery
Scott began his ice cream adventures in 2000 with the creation of Valentine’s Gourmet Ice Cream here in Winchester. Trained in ice cream/ gelato production by Master gelato maker Lucaino Ferrari, Scott likes to use the term, “Master Dischiller” to describe his culinary efforts.
The 9/11 Twin Towers attack forced the closure of the brick and mortar location and the wholesale business became full time.
Over the next 10 years Valentine’s serviced almost every country club, upscale restaurant and caterer in the central KY area. Scott won multiple awards at the Taste of the Bluegrass events where he was able to highlight ice cream with Flair.
Joe Brett Langley approached Scott about helping develop a line of adult ice creams and the current undertaking began. With Scott’s ice cream experience and Joe Brett’s vision the next 10 years were spent developing an adult ice cream product that is creamy, tastes exceptional and freezes like regular ice cream.
Joe Brett’s Ice Cream began in 2018 and after a modest beginning with 40 ice cream cases in local liquor stores, Joe Brett’s shut its doors when COVID hit and killed the retail trade. The location you are in now is the NEW beginning of the Joe Brett’s Ice Cream vision.
To compliment Joe Brett’s offerings, Scott developed the Bluegrass Creamery brand of super premium Kentucky Proud ice creams.
